Some are implemented by default. Others are available as options that you can activate for added security.

Ensure Google Play Protect is switched on for Android devices

Google Play Protect in Singapore offers real-time scanning abilities to block harmful app downloads

Turn on Auto Blocker for Samsung devices

Samsung's Auto Blocker will prevent installation of apps from unauthorised sources, check for malware, and block malicious data transfers via USB cable.

Activate now:

  • Android settings menu > Security and Privacy tab

Removal of clickable links from SMSes

Banks will not send you clickable links via SMSes

Emergency self-service "kill switch"

Activate the kill switch to suspend your bank account quickly, if you think your account has been compromised

Restricted user access if dangerous apps are detected

If access to your bank account is restricted, check if you have installed any potentially dangerous apps (e.g. from unofficial sources)

Default online transaction limit of $5,000 or less

Avoid increasing your transaction limit unnecessary, to limit losses if your account has been compromised

Activate "money lock" feature to secure funds

Consumers can now set aside a certain amount of funds to be protected from all digital transfers.
